THE TOUR SHIT - Dig Jelly national tour with Veruca Salt Tour Diary
Sat, Dec 03 -
WE ARE BACK!!!
Our first national tour as an opening act for Veruca Salt was quite an experience!!!
We were gone from Oct 10 through Nov 20! That's almost 6 weeks!
First of all, we thank all of our precious fans (including our brand new fans from the road) for their loving support, and their incredible energy!! We can go on because of you guys!!
Second of all, of course we thank our label Centerline Music and Entertainment and our distributor IDN/D1 Music for getting us onto this tour as soon as signing us! They show us the serious support--that we are one of their priority artists! YAY!
We thank Porselain, the Lovemakers, of course Veruca Salt, and the whole team of staff on the tour for being such kool people! We love you so very much!!
Rayko thanks God for watching over us throughout the tour :) Cuz' maaan there was bunch of scary moments on this tour...We are so happy we got home in one piece.
We went almost EVERYWHERE in the United States, and all we remember are the freeways...Sad, huh? We played almost every single night with hardly any breaks, and ended up playing a total of 32 shows! It was play, drive, play, drive...It was hard, very hard, but it was everything we worked so hard for, and everything we expected our first tour to be. Jorge from Porselain gave us major props for hanging in till the very end. He said usually a first tour for the newly signed band is three weeks tops. They all thought we'd give up at the half way point, but we did the whole 6 weeks! Jorge, if you are reading this, what you said meant a lot to us! Thank you!
Some of the greatest moments of this tour were to meet such wonderful people everywhere!
Our special thanks goes to...

Wed, Oct 26 - Fri, Nov 04 -
Fucking straight nights of performing and driving state to state...We were PUMPED! Daz right!! Not burned, but PUMPED!! hehehe I knew that we had to kick some major asses so there was no time for crying. Going from Philly to New York was fun. We rolled together with our buddy Porselain guys in their huge RV and drove down to NYC! Dudes, just imagine the big o' thang going down the narrow NYC streets with FedEx vans on the right and moving trucks on the left. lolol It was a job! Thanks to Porselain's vocal/guitar George for his excellent driving. They also let us use their gear so we didn't have to bring ours. We love them, and they absolutely rawk y'all!
Starting at Springfield, VA, we conquered Baltimore, MD, Boston, MA (where ma old boss and his lovely wife joined us! They rock!!), Buffalo, NY, Pittsburgh, PA, Philadelphia, PA, New York, NY, and Cleveland, OH!!
We got to shop a little in NY at SOHO. Sis, wait til you see what I got ya. lol We got to see our best friends in OH, Eric and Scott from Lucid Vision and Marisa and her fiance Dan, her bro Mike and his cute friend...The Pizza you bought us was sooooo yummy!! Thanks so much Dan!!
We of course stopped at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland! There we spent a good two hours to look at all the killer shit! We'll be there performing shortly!
We had another kick ass show in Detroit, MI last night and are now enjoying our day off at our lovely friend Jeanette's house! She, her son James, and his friend Mike are now our best buddies in Detroit! Love you all!
Thanks to all our new friends who keep adding us on MySpace. We love you all very much, and we are so very happy to have met you guys!

Fri, Oct 21 -
Yo, ma dear friends!! Long ass time, no talk!!
We are hollerin' at y'allz from Ft Lauderdale Florida! Yeah baby, no Wilma can stop us now lol.
We had another packed, kick-ass, show last night at this club called Culture Room opening for Veruca salt! The crowd went nuts and we sold tons of CDs!
But it hasn't been like that all the time. This is our first national tour since we got signed. We had a couple of shows where we played in front of 30 people in a 700 capacity room and shit, but it's all good!! I made sure that all 'em 30 people bought our CD. :D
Also, I, Rayko had a temperature of 102 last night, and the night before when we played at Fuel in Jacksonville, FL. I was hella sick, but dude, once I got up on stage, I forgot about it all and rawked out harder than eva!!! I f'in sweated out all ma sickness away!!
Of course, we had to deal with the hurricane weather after the show!! Joey (da drummer) and Brian (our artwork/merch guy) got soaking wet while we were trying to drive our huge RV outta a narrow-ass alleyway that looked like something out of Jurassic Park! They had to lift and throw all the debris away that was blocking our way.
Our driver did an awesome job, and all we lost throughout the 20 min drama was the step of our RV, which got caught on some wooden post we couldn't see. lolol
We started the tour on 10/10, and 10 shows later, we are eva stronger, tougher, and man, it's been a blast! It is truly an honor to be able to share stages with such an awesome band like Veruca Salt! I mean, they are hard, tight, sexy, and the singer Louise wails!! She's so hot, talented, and a very sweet and humble....! I love her!!
We got 20 plus more shows with them. Please check out our tour dates with Veruca Salt at www.digjelly.com. Atlanta, GA here we come!!
We'll be back at our hood, playing The Key Club on Friday, 11/18!! Come party!!
Thanks so much for your support ma friends!! I love you all!!
Tue, Oct 18 -
So at Oklahoma City...We played at a place called Bricktown Live!! Dude, it's got a killer room with an awesome sound system and the promoter Justin B is the koolest guy in the world, as everyone at Bricktown Live!! I fell in love with the people in Oklahoma City.
We met some kool ass guys from Tinker AFB. Andrew Markey and da gang! They were rocking out and showing their mad support the whole time we were playing, and were the first people to be at our merch table buying our CDs! I had so much fun talking to them. They are not only fun loving guys, but hella smart! They control all the planes that are coming and going, ya know? Shit!!
There's more to the story!! They bought us PIZZAS!! YES! Do you know how the PIZZAS taste after a gig? YUMMY YUMMY!!! Shrek rules!!! He ordered like 4 large pizzas, had them delivered to the club, and fed us all!! I'll never forget the taste!! WE LOVE PEOPLE IN OKLAHOMA CITY!!! We'll be back there fo sho just for them awesome people!!
Another kool ass guy we met was Thomas in Houston TX! He was a fill-in guitar player of the local band that opened up for us. He's the most radical guitar player I've seen. He had gorgeous, long, straight hair, and he looked like someone that was REAL HARD to please. I WAS RIGHT! He later told me that he was ready to pack up and leave when we hit the stage hard with "SLAM". He paused, listened, and went berserk!!!
He NEVER left the front of the stage after that! He was banging his head, screaming the whole time, giving us the YOU RAWK sign...He was giving us da LOVE the whole time y'all!
He also was one of the first at our merch table after we were done. By the time I got there, he had our baseball jersey, beanie cap, and of course the CD!! He even tipped us $10, AND THEN took us to the bar and bought us drinks all fuckin' night long!!! WHAT A GUY!!
He said he might fly out to see us in Vegas! It would be awesome to see our new friend Thomas there!!!
Sun, Oct 16 -
Rayko here reporting live from Oklahoma City!! We just got in to town, and it's like 6am Oklahoma time, and I'M RIGHT AWAKE!!
Robby and Rain's amps took a shit already from rawkin' out too hard. lolol We've already been playing through our back up amps and shit y'all!! Y'all feel me? hahahaha
Going from AZ to TX was a trip! We had to go through a heavy rain storm, and we fell asleep with our windows open in our RV, and dude.... our shit got soaked!! Pillows, blankets, sheets... you name it. I thought I was just having a wet dream. lolol joke!
Dudes, it's been awesome!! My voice has been holding up totally fine even with all the screamin' and shit (thank God for the in ear monitor), and our set is getting tighter and tighter since we play every single fucking night. lolol It turned out that there is an Interscope band that plays between us Dig Jelly and Veruca Salt. But hey, it's out first National Tour, we ain't trippin' ya know? ... hahaha We did trip at first but we are ova it. lol
So far we played Scottsdale and Tucson, AZ, San Antonio, Austin, and Denton, TX. We play here tonight in OK, and going back to play in Houston, TX tomorrow...then off to Florida!!!
It's only been a week into this tour and dude, the Gas $s up to $1000.00 already!! We got a good size RV, but DAAANG... I guess we can't skate across the state, yo.. so thank you Centerline (our label). lol
K, I will give y'all the report time to time. If anybody's in OK city we are playing at Bricktown Live tonight. We'll put ya on the list, so come on down and PARTY!!!
Rayko from Dig Jelly
P.S. If anybody who is interested in coming down to see us and Veruca Salt rawk da hizzie, check out our tour dates at our site and holla at me. I will try ma best to put y'allz on the list!!

I said
"Wha..???????"
Herez
some updates on what's really going on with us lately!
As some of you know, on March 1, we got an awesome record deal
offer from an indie label called Centerline Entertainment,
featuring major worldwide distribution through IDN/D1 Music!
After a
little over three months of negotiation, we finally
signed it on June 29th!!! I (Rayko) also got a separate deal
with them as an in-house songwriter/producer to write and
produce for some of their Hip Hop and Rock Artists! The deal
is better than anything we could have asked for!
Our
label is in full force to get Dig Jelly to become the
next big thang (how cheezie am I lolol)!! YAY!!
Our newly
edited "For Your Inner Angry Child" is totally
repackaged with a killer Anime style art work (check out the
shit created by Brian Bowland at our home page) and ready to
hit the racks at stores near you on November 8th!
We are
very grateful for this and all of you for supporting us...it's
what got us here today, and IF you know anything about me,
I cannot just sit here and relax now that we got a deal! I
can't let the label take over all the work! I wanna become
one of the team leaders with the big machine and work HARDER
THAN EVA! lolol
So, please
feel free to holla at me with any upcoming events you might
want to have us perform at!
We got awesome tour support as well, so we are there!!!
If you are in a band and playing shows, I'm there to support
as alwayz!
Oh, and
you might wanna get a copy of "For Your Inner Angry Child"
here FAST if you haven't gotten it yet! The price will go
up once the label repackages the CD :) You can also buy Rayko's
solo project CD "Crave" here, too!!
Anywayz,
e-mail me any time! I love networking and chatting with y'allz!
Nothing has changed, I'm the same old Rayko, yo friend! PEACE!!!
DIG
JELLY IS GETTING A HUGE BUZZ IN NAGOYA, JAPAN!
And it's all thanks to Zip FM, the biggest commercial radio
station in Nagoya Japan which
all young and young at heart listens to everyday!
Rayko of Dig Jelly got interviewed by Kentaro the DJ of Zip
FM 4 times already, two of which were LIVE! Our song Broken
Trust has been played over and over again as our new Japanese
fans keep on requesting it, and CD orders are pouring in!
This is great stuff!!
